Good News From Gatchina,
Russia
The benevolent work that has been done in the Russian community of Gatchina is bearing fruit. In a country where people were not allowed to worship God for years, a new generation of young people is now openly worshiping.
Several teenagers have been baptized and are active in the congregation. Vitalik Filatov and his brother Kolya were baptized two years ago along with their friend Vitalik Kamzolov. All three young men would have remained in the streets had they not been taken in by Natasha Vasilyeva. With her help they are now attending a trade school learning skills that will enable them to support themselves. The Filatov brothers have been selected to serve on the Council of Brothers at the Gatchina Church.
Natasha has been teaching a Bible class for young mothers and several of them have been attending the Sunday assembly.
Igor Eginev, a student in the Bible Institute in St. Petersburg, is now preaching in Gatchina and is doing a wonderful job.
Jan Blackburn has already scheduled the 2008 Christmas Trip. A group will leave December 26 and stay until January 8. They will take clothes and toys for 21 children ages 1 to 17 years. Your donations are welcomed. A gift of $25 will purchase a nice coat.
